Nick thrived after being an LGBTQ student in the Fox Valley and surely knows exactly what it takes to create an inclusive atmosphere for ALL our students.

Nick has been an active community member for years. We need diversity on the board and someone who will speak up. Nick has always been friendly when I speak with them and recently listened to some concerns at AASD, truancy task force, attendance, accountability for SROs, etc.

I first met Nick through Goodwill’s LGBTQ youth group. I was drawn to Nick rather instantly; Nick is kind, fun, and promotes openness and acceptance 100%. Nick knows how we need to change things to be more acceptable of others, especially those who struggle to get accepted. We need more people like Nick Ross on the school board.

Program Manager, AASD Parent

I believe having more School Board members who strive to make our district a safer and more equitable place for children of color are needed as we live in an area with little to no diversity in our teachers, administrators, and staff which does not reflect the population in Appleton at all. It is important we have understanding and compassionate people like Nick Ross at the board level to advocate for the best circumstances for these marginalized students as well as respect for their families.

AASD Parent

As I have worked with them, it is evident that their passion for the betterment of this community is a priority in all aspects of their life. They are a life-long learner looking to bring about equity and safety in this community. I feel that they will make fair, transparent, and equitable decisions when it comes to the school board.

I know where Nick stands on the issues at all times. They are honest and transparent. They know the business of the school board and they know the processes that need to be followed to get business done. Nick is also willing to take time to explain and discuss these things with community members. I am excited that there is a candidate that wants to bring the voices of ALL students to the table and can amplify the voices of community members that often go unheard.
